Same-Sex Marriage

On May 24th, 2017, Taiwan’s top court, the Judicial Yuan, ruled in favour of same-sex marriage, paving the way for the island to become the fist place in Asia to legalise same-sex unions.

Recently in Hong Kong sexual minorities also celebrated a landmark victory when, on April 28th, the High Court ruled that the husband of senior immigration officer Leung Chun-kwong, whom he married in New Zealand, was entitled to spousal benefits for civil servants.
